Antea Cement is proud to announce the successful inauguration of the newly refurbished Kruja Maternity Hospital, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to community development and healthcare improvement. This remarkable event took place on September 15th, 2023.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished individuals representing both Central and Local Administration, among the esteemed Member of the Albanian Parliament, Durres District, and Secretary of the Program of the PS Political Party, Ms. Milva Ekonomi, the Deputy Minister from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Mr. Endrit Yzeiraj, along with Mr. Florind Cerhozi, the General Secretary of Kruje Municipality, Mr. Denis Deliu, a Member of the Albanian Parliament, Durres District, the director of Kruja Maternity Hospital, “Stefan Gjoni,” Ms. Yllka Kukalaj,  all of whom contributed to the inauguration ceremony.

The Greek Embassy was represented by the Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office, Mr. Marios Belibasakis. Notably, the ceremony received significant attention from the representatives of various Chambers of Commerce, including the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), Foreign Investors’ Association in Albania (FIAA), Albania Investment Council, Albanian Manufacturers Union, and the Hellenic Business Association of Albania. Finally, the ceremony was attended also by ANTEA Cement Staff and Contactors, but also by Maternity staff and international organizations.

The refurbishment of the Kruja Maternity Hospital was a substantial initiative undertaken by Antea Cement, with the aim of comprehensively improving the healthcare infrastructure and facilities. The primary objective was to enhance the quality of care provided to expectant mothers and their newborns in the Kruja community. Antea Cement’s professional team and contractors executed this refurbishment with precision and dedication, ensuring that the hospital’s transformation would be a beacon of progress.

A Commitment to Community Well-being:

The significance of this transformation extended beyond the physical renovations; it represented a deep commitment to the health and well-being of the Kruja community. Antea Cement recognizes that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and the Kruja Maternity Hospital now stands as a testament to our dedication to meeting this vital community need.

This initiative trigger also the attention of the audience on how to be inclusive and to tackle the sustainable development goals, set out in the 2030 United Nations agenda.

At the inauguration ceremony of the maternity, our distinguished speakers were:

  • Mario Bracci, CEO of Antea Cement: Mr. Bracci, as the driving force behind Antea Cement’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, highlighted the company’s unwavering dedication to improving healthcare facilities in the Kruja community. He emphasized the pivotal role that the Kruja Maternity will play in enhancing the quality of healthcare services for expectant mothers and families in the region.
  • Yllka Kukalaj, Director of Kruja Maternity Hospital, “Stefan Gjoni”: Ms. Kukalaj, representing the local healthcare community, expressed her gratitude for the collaboration between Antea Cement and the hospital. She spoke passionately about the positive impact maternity will have on the well-being of patients and healthcare professionals alike.
  • Milva Ekonomi, Member of the Albanian Parliament, Durres District, Secretary of the Program of the PS Political Party: Ms. Ekonomi praised the public-private partnership model exemplified by Antea Cement and the Albanian government. She highlighted the importance of such collaborations in addressing critical community needs.
  • Endrit Yzeiraj, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance and Economy: Mr. Yzeiraj underscored the significance of investments in healthcare infrastructure and their contribution to the broader economic and social development of the region.
  • Denis Deliu, Member of the Albanian Parliament, Durres District: Mr. Deliu stressed Antea Cement’s commitment to corporate citizenship and its role in bolstering local healthcare services.
  • Florind Cerhozi, General Secretary of Kruje Municipality: Mr. Cerhozi emphasized the importance of the Kruja Maternity as a symbol of progress and unity within the Kruje community.

At the end of the inauguration, Mr. Mario Bracci and Ms. Yllka Kukalaj, unveiled the inauguration plaque of the maternity while inviting all stakeholders to have a Hospital Tour.
