ANTEA Cement celebrated the Earth Day under the motto “Plant a tree, help the planet”

ANTEA Cement celebrated the Earth Day under the motto “Plant a tree, help the planet”. As every year, this year as well the focus of the event was to promote sustainable environmental practices and raise the environmental awareness among ANTEA’s employees and contractors regarding the climate change.
Trees help combat climate change, so they absorb excess and harmful CO2 from our atmosphere. In fact, in a single year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the same amount of CO2 produced by driving the average car 26,000 miles.
200 trees were planted within the plant perimeter by our management staff as well as direct and indirect employees. ANTEA employees gave their contribution to this special day were this initiative will make a significant impact on our surrounding area but a modest impact in the planet and will serve as best practice to raise awareness for a cleaner air, healthier ambient and more sustainable country for all.
Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.
